Lie #8: My opponent's outright lies regarding our phone chat.
This issue was already covered in my previous press release which can be found and downloaded here.
However, one new blatant lie demands immediate correction.
“Moreover, the mentor will receive 50% of any fees earned by said apprentice for each appraisal during that certification process.”
No mention of any split-fee, or any other form of compensation, relationship was discussed.
That is confirmed by my opponent's own call notes available at the above download location.
No compensation was discussed because none was ever intended!
My mentoring would have been during normal work hours using appraisal techniques in addition to assessment techniques to properly value Grafton's properties.
If someone wants to stretch the truth to its fullest, I could have been “guilty” of taking 50% of zero…
The telephone chat can be distilled into one comment that we both agree happened:
"If the positions were reversed, I'd jump at the chance."
The reason is I realize how little I knew way back when I had less than three years' experience.
That is sadly and obviously not the case with my opponent.
Based on that lack of recognition, it’s clear my opponent lacks both honesty and maturity.
Honesty consists of the unwillingness to lie to others; maturity, which is equally hard to attain, consists of the unwillingness to lie to oneself. Sydney J. Harris
